Frequently asked questions, lots of them!

Caricature? What is it?
Caricature is a pictorial representation in which the subject's distinctive features or peculiarities are deliberately exaggerated or distorted to produce a comic or grotesque effect.
(The Houghton Mifflin Canadian Dictionary)
For more info visit the Caricature and Cartoon Art page.

What can I do with a caricature?
Beside making perfect framable gifts they can be used for t-shirts, web sites, mouse pads, mugs, pillow cases, business cards, wedding invitations etc. They can be airbrushed on a bath tub or tattooed on a body. One client asked me to carve the caricature in a piece of wood. One made a stamp out of it. There are no limits. You can add loads of laughter to your events and parties by hiring a caricature artist. Your guests will leave with a hardcopy memory of the night.

How many caricatures can you draw in an hour?
12 to 14 face and bodies (black & white)
14 to 16 face and shoulders (black & white)
18 to 20 profiles (black and whites)

I want to get a caricature done from a photo. Can you do that?
In three easy steps. Start by choosing the desired item on Custom Caricature Gallery and follow the instructions.
If you don't have digital images, please contact us and we will make other arrangements.

Upon receiving your photos, we draw a pencil sketch and upload it on this web site. You will receive a notification and will be able to view it on Artwork in Progress Page
You then send us your comments and changes you would like to see in the artwork.

Based on your comments the image will be redrawn and uploaded to this site again. We will repeate this until you are happy with the result. The final drawing will be done in ink and/or colors. You can either have the original shipped to you or receive a cleaned up, high resolution (300 dpi) electronic file of the caricature. If you want both, an additional $25 applies. The high resolution electronic file can be sent to a printer for a high quality output and is ideal for wedding invitations, greeting cards, posters, business cards, videos etc.
